We are taking the long-standing two-flat building and keeping it as two family-sized homes, whilst adding a compact one-bed in the roof by converting the hip to a gable and inserting a set-back dormer. The site is well-connected, keeps the existing two on-plot parking spaces, and provides integrated refuse and secure cycle storage.
The gable restores symmetry with the attached semi and fits local precedents; the dormer is set back for a modest street presence. We repair and reveal the original brickwork (pebbledash removed), renew windows as double-glazed sash units, and tidy the forecourt with planting, bin and bike stores.
This is the house our family has been tied to for decades. The work is modest by design, we make the building solid for the long term, keep family homes, and tuck a small, well-lit dwelling into the roof, so the corner feels cared for and useful again.
